Supporters see it as the future of finance – the end of printing costs, instant payments, and complete convenience in everyday life. However, critics warn that the total elimination of cash could mean the death of anonymity and the last guarantee of citizens’ financial freedom. The introduction of CBDC in the hands of the state could give authorities a tool for full control over spending – from limiting “harmful” purchases to blocking politically incorrect transactions. There are also conspiracy theories that CBDC is a prelude to the social credit system known from China. Will we give up privacy in exchange for convenience?

What, in your opinion, was the true purpose of creating cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin?

Cryptocurrencies have sparked debate about their true purpose since the beginning. For some, Bitcoin is a symbol of freedom – a response to the 2008 crisis, a way to become independent from central banks and governments that are increasingly moving toward eliminating cash. Others argue that it is simply a speculative bubble, perfect for pumping capital and draining the savings of the masses, while a small group of insiders become millionaires. There are also voices claiming that cryptocurrencies were designed from the start as a tool for the black market – an anonymous currency for trading weapons, drugs, and services banned in the legal economy. Is Bitcoin a revolution, a scam, or a hidden tool of mafias and intelligence agencies?

How do you think the events of September 11, 2001 in the USA should be interpreted?

For some, September 11, 2001 remains a classic Al-Qaeda terrorist attack led by Osama bin Laden. For others, it was a “false flag” operation prepared by American services to gain public support for restricting civil liberties and to justify the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. Popular conspiracy theories also point to the possible role of the Israeli Mossad, arguing that many influential Jews did not show up for work at the WTC that day. Doubts also surround the Pentagon – was it really hit by a passenger plane, or rather a missile? Controversy is further fueled by the miraculously recovered passport of one of the hijackers and the almost “perfect” way the towers collapsed, which for many is evidence of planted explosives. Terrorist attack or perfectly staged conspiracy?

Critics point out that in many Muslim states Christianity or Judaism are restricted, and religious symbols are outright banned. They ask why the West should be “naively open” to Islam. Supporters of pluralism reply that freedom of religion is a cornerstone of democracy and cannot be limited on the basis of reciprocity. Increasingly, however, voices arise that acceptance must not mean permitting practices that contradict the laws or customs of a given country.
