Health Education in Schools – Necessary or Harmful?

Do you think health education should be mandatory in schools?

Health education in schools is one of the most divisive elements of the curriculum. Some believe that children and teenagers have the right to reliable knowledge about health, puberty, sexuality, and the existence of many gender identities, so they can consciously protect themselves from diseases and make responsible decisions. Others warn that it is merely a way of introducing ideology into schools and taking away parents’ right to decide how their children are raised. Supporters of compromise call for classes to be available only with parental consent and in a neutral, medical form. So, is health education a necessary support, or rather a risky social experiment?
