Foundations supporting LGBT rights have long been a flashpoint in public debate. For some, such as George Soros’s Open Society Foundations, Jon Stryker’s Arcus Foundation, or Tim Gill’s Gill Foundation, they are pure philanthropy, a fight for equality and human rights.
