Fine for not wearing seatbelts

Do you think people should be fined for driving without seatbelts, given that cyclists and e-scooter users are not even required to wear helmets?

The debate on penalizing driving without seatbelts once again exposes the hypocrisy of traffic law. Drivers and car passengers face harsh penalties, while cyclists and e-scooter users, who are also at risk of injury, do not even have to wear helmets. Supporters of the current regulations emphasize that the difference lies in speed – a car is a potential one-ton weapon, and seatbelts genuinely save lives. Others argue that if the state cares so much about safety, it should also make helmets mandatory for cyclists and e-scooter enthusiasts. There are also opinions that the whole system is selective and unfair – punish drivers while leaving others unregulated? Is this about protecting citizens, or is it another example of unequal treatment?
